Driver CPC Training is often a training programme for all those professional drivers in the UK. The training was created to improve bus and lorry drivers’ knowledge and skills throughout their working life.
This training entered force for PCV drivers on 10 September 2008 and for LGV drivers on 10 September 2009. Required for brand new and existing PCV and LGV drivers, the driving force CPC Training means drivers now need both a licence and a Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC), which can be renewable every A few years.
There’s two parts for the Driver CPC Training. For brand new LGV and PCV drivers, they have to make Initial Qualification section as a way to drive professionally through the UK. This requires 35 hours of education every Five years. The Periodic Training has to be completed within an Approved Training Centre, if required with the Driving Standards Agency (DSA). The approvals process for the passenger transport and freights transport industries is managed by Sector Skills Councils (SSC). For passenger transport, GoSkills manages the CPC training as well as for freight transport, Skills for Logistics.
