Taming the market with robots

Were closely watching the Crypto Currencies market if you can refer to it that, because of the fake data, fraud, and related problems. One thing stands apart – it isn’t so distinct from FX, commodities, futures, or stocks. Market dynamics are market dynamics. And since several readers on this fine site will may have learned – virtually all traders lose. There’s been analysis done about this, everybody knows how this ends. A few early investors make a bundle and thousands or millions even stay holding the bag. From one perspective, a bubble is much like a ponzi scheme. In MLM, there are some who get rich – the founders.

Unless you are the founder – how do you know which Crypto is going to be the subsequent Bitcoin? You really do not. You have no idea. You can look to Korea and do all of the research you need, in reality that no one can begin to see the future or a top analyst could be wrong from time to time.

Quant traders have the identical doctrine each will share – these are smart enough to understand how stupid they’re. They know their particular flaws and they also endure an increased power- that’s Artificial Intelligence.

Computing power is so massive it is likely that you can now using their home office create a sensible automated program that does well. Of course, as with the laws of market dynamics, it’s also possible to produce a robot which is worth exactly zero – a big pile of crap. When a quant bakes an algorithm it’s either priceless or worthless. If it truely does work, he’s effectively created a profitable machine. If it does not work, there’s no value to anyone even if it’s just academics.

So how do you know very well what method works, building a working bot or buy one? There are obvious conflicts of curiosity in people who sell bots. The internet has become dominated by good marketeers, while profitable quants mostly maintain their strategies to themselves. Selling a product, and trading a robot, are very 2 different skills.

Crypto thus far has proven the same as most markets: impossible to trade.

Even though many are kicking themselves for not buying and holding, Let me tell you as a trader and that i speak for several within the room there’s not a way I would have had the patience to sit down on a hugely profitable position for several years as the price goes parabolic.

This is exactly why quants develop and trade algorithms – picking entries and exits can prove to be brain-destroying. There are dangers and risks with robots too of course, but you are of an different nature.
