Motivational Series – Robert E Lee

It is usually declared history is constructed through the victor — that a direct consequence of conflict, the defeated are often portrayed as a collective, detestable mass that follows a similarly repulsive value system. Yet, though his Confederate Army what food was in the losing end of America’s Civil War, Robert E. Lee is remembered among the most celebrated generals in American history.

Rational ideas of armed conflict presume that defeated soldiers needs to be denounced, not exalted; punished, not praised; and despised, not admired. However, Lee is entirely with the latter. What made one man, one soldier, stand out he is remembered by more Americans today than many of his victorious Union counterparts?

Unfortunately, it is a question that lots of volumes of books have had trouble answering. And, I suspect you have no desire (through this moment, no less than) to read content of these depth and breadth (and that i admit which i could not write it). Nonetheless, only was required to describe the explanation for Lee’s appeal a single word, it will be “motivation.”

I will explore this theme while the following quote:

“There is scarcely something that is appropriate we cannot desire to accomplish by labor and perseverance. However the first has to be earnest along with the second unremitting.”
Robert E. Lee

Earnest Labor

Today’s culture is a in which immediacy is glorified — in the Round-the-clock news cycle; to tarts that “pop” one which just pour a glass of milk; to magic weight loss pills — in ways that you can actually forget that anything worth accomplishing takes earnest labor, i would define as being a serious and purposeful exertion of body, mind and spirit.

For when businesses mention pouring their blood, sweat and tears to their companies, they refer merely to earnest labor.

Once the craft of the famous musician or star athlete appears to look “easy,” it is made so through earnest labor.

And, while i try to achieve my goal of managing a marathon, I’ll spend on one principle: you got it right, earnest labor.

A chance to learn; the energy to switch; along with the means by which goals are accomplished; are controlled because of your power to work hard, and also to do so earnestly — without reservations (or even a fast solution).

Unremitting Perseverance

Lee fought an uphill battle for much of the Civil War. His outnumbered and poorly-supplied army shrank daily because of desertions by disheartened soldiers. Yet, regardless of this, he fought vigorously before moment when defeat was imminent.

How frequently do we give up goals when things aren’t proceeding just like there was anticipated? Would you opt to give up smoking, then again found out you needed an enormous project due in the office, school, or elsewhere? Did you try creating a habit of getting up earlier every day, but then slept next day and decided it had become a pointless exercise?

Lee comes with a answer of those, as well as other, problems: unremitting perseverance, that we would define as being a steady, unshakable persistence in staying with a course of action, belief, or purpose.

Once i train for and eventually run the marathon, I understand that there might be a little voice within my head telling me to avoid; that it hurts an excessive amount of to visit to the next level. However, my unremitting perseverance in adopting the challenge — to the conclusion line — will enable me to concentrate only to my footsteps from the pavement; the gentle breeze passing over my ears; and the rhythm of my breathing — thus pushing that little voice to the depths of my subconscious.

Nevertheless, robert e lee facts; 67,900,000 is a perfect example that harboring unremitting perseverance will not ensure victory. After all, he was defeated in war. Yet, even in momentary failure, perseverance will give you the ability to get back on your own metaphorical (or actual) horse and ride into battle (hopefully metaphorical) once again, pursuing your goal together with the knowledge that may simply be learned through setback.

You are able to that history is constructed through the victor; and, in Lee’s case, it’s. In capturing the hearts of american citizens, both through his military actions, his personal value system, and his sincere words of wisdom, Robert E. Lee is clearly victorious.
