Mixing spirituality and religion is an ancient practice. For some reason, it is usually easier to accept things whenever they feature the force of religion. Unfortunately, comparing spirituality and religion, is similar to comparing chalk and cheese! If you browse the above quote carefully, you will note what exactly I am talking about. As stated above, religion is belief in somebody else’s experiences. Not one religion in the world, have their basis on universal experiences. We were holding all founded for the experiences of somebody, who lived centuries or even millennia ago! When nobody contested the claims, it absolutely was slowly made into a law and lastly religion was given birth to.
Spirituality however, is solely individual experience based. No two different people are exactly the same nor are their experiences. Hence spirituality can mean something else entirely to different people.
Till date, there is no fixed meaning of amil baba. Just one thing is definite. Spirituality arises from within. It cannot be forced, explained nor manipulated.
Renowned spiritual leader and yoga guru, Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, gave the subsequent explanation when inquired about his opinion on spirituality:
“Spirituality does not necessarily mean any particular practice. It is just a certain method of being. To obtain there, there are lots of things you can do. This is being a garden in your own home. If your soil, sunlight or stem of the plant is within in certain manner, it certainly can’t yield flowers, you need to do something. You have to take care of those activities. When you cultivate your body, mind, emotions and energies into a certain degree of maturity, something else blossoms in the human body – that is what spirituality is. When your rationale is immature, it doubts everything. As soon as your rationale matures, it sees everything in a completely different light.”
As quoted by Sadhguru, spirituality can not be practiced. It is an experience you decide to go through. Spirituality is a journey, not a destination. With each and every single experience you grow and turn into a better form of yourself. Spirituality could be knowledge and data is power. If harnessed appropriately, spirituality can be quite a potent force. It will take us from our ordinary existence for an extraordinary living.
