Wire art, also known as wire sculpture is an indispensable branch of contemporary art. Popularized by Alexander Calder, employing wires of single strands to produce net like sculptures of products and living beings that are minimalist and abstract, wire art has been given by artists who sometimes elect to deviate from the mainstream. Such an art made from wire is KAYA by Racso Jugarap. Inside the creating and modeling of KAYA, Racso capitalized on the endless possibilities that wire art world. KAYA, that is a wall piece wire artwork is 3d and is weaved on the basis of philosophy of self. Racso made KAYA to become a portal to somewhere – perhaps to one’s aspirations and dreams. Finally he concludes that everybody is free of charge to interpret the piece, being true to the philosophy of self.
As a wall sculpture, KAYA embodies a tear shape with an airy loop in the centre connected by spider web like weave around the sides, fringing the empty circle at the center. Why is KAYA stick out may be the dimensional geometry with the web which is palpable when held on the wall. KAYA can be a masterpiece in their own right, lovingly conceived by passion for wall installation and wire art.
The idea of KAYA isn’t wholly new – Racso derived it from his Sofia pieces. There’s an overlapping design quality. He was quoted saying that Sofia is really a gargantuan wire piece looking like interconnected cocoons. His pieces makes it so far as L . a ., California, New York, Paris, France and Milan, Italy, being testimony for the covetous value as well as artistry sense.
Racso is happy that KAYA is up to be featured at All4Home event in Brussels, Belgium and in Maison et Objet Paris for public viewing. When asked why is his wire pieces unique from your other wire sculptures, he was quoted saying, “I guess because I never do each piece perfectly. My motto has long been, loving the good thing about imperfections which made the piece more interesting. I do believe each Racso J pieces have their own signature or thumbprint. An account to inform. ”In an encapsulation, KAYA personifies the infinite variations possible in the realm of wire art and home design and he is happy that his work gets due recognition and appreciation.
