SA-3 cylinder shape burrs are great for interior contour work and deburring. Because of the extreme hardness on this tungsten carbide, it can be used on considerably more demanding jobs than HSS (High-Speed Steel).
Double cut or Cross cut carbide burrs tend to be used on ferrous and non-ferrous metals, soft steel, as well as for all non-metal materials for example stone, plastics, real wood, and ceramic. Double cut burrs leaves a slightly smoother finish than single cut due to producing smaller chips as they cut away the material. Use for medium stock removal, deburring, finishing, and cleaning. A double-cut carbide burr is among the most popular cut and may help you through most applications.
Machines Used On:
Die Grinders and hand-held pneumatic grinders
Application:
Ferrous Materials – Cast Iron, Steel, Stainless, Steel, Titanium, Nickel, Wrought Iron
Non-Ferrous Materials – Copper
Other Materials – Fiberglass, Plastic, Hard Rubber, Wood, Stone
Cylinder Shape burrs are great for interior contour work like peripheral and face milling.
Safety Tips & Techniques:
Tool speed will be determined by the material you are using your burr on. If you are experiencing chipping, you are most probably operating at too much of speed to the application. Start with a slower speed and increase during this process unless you attain the ideal results
Apply light pressure and let the tool perform the work. Bearing documented on the tool will lead to reduced tool life as well as a dull burr.
Always wear proper PPE to add (however, not limited to) safety glasses, hearing protection, respirator, and work gloves. Keep all guards set up on the machine.
Avoid use on electrical power drills; the slower speeds may lead to chipping of your workpiece.
