The cast of characters are settling in for their new situations. They think that nothing much should be happening to upset that world, yet, they are surprisingly wrong.
This tale of innuendo, gossip, lies, misdirection and intrigue discovers authentically as being a comedy of errors and misinformation. The idea is simple enough and merely subtle enough to give a good base.
Ma Foster provides housing to be with her “girls,” Bella, Chloe and Kitty. Currently the three in residence are missing. Ma is really a big problem about it. Harold Mixon, the owner and editor emeritus with the local weekly newspaper, just recently put on the internet is looking to possess a pleasant and quiet Labor Day weekend regarding his friends on the International Order of Odd Fellows (I.O.O.F.).
Another main characters are Gigi Carpenter, a feminist reporter turned editor with the local newspaper. Max (Maximo) Morgan a would-be gum shoe private detective having a penchant for old murder mysteries, especially Dashiel Hammet’s “Fat Man” tales. Then Deano DeBoffo because the “reality” show director looking to shot a pilot for the new show. Finally, Shatner Lapp, as being a newsman, publisher, editor and all-round classic boy, involves town to assist in his Princeton buddy’s newspaper problems.
Once these folks get involved with the gossip laden townsfolk, the misinformation flies. With additional rumors then this facts probably warrant, these missing girls are more and much more objects of speculation and intrigue while almost no factual information is given. The rumors start off mild because the missing girls are merely sought out by Ma and Maximo.
These rumors and gossip finally lead up to a major “reporter war” between Shat and Gigi. The misinformation here becomes the avalanche cascading within the news and therefore the townspeople.
