State Bank of India, country’s largest public sector lender, has brought in a number of new rules because of its customers. The financial institution is now world’s 45thlargest lender after merger with five sister banks and Bharatiya Mahila Bank.

SBI’s new norms relate to minimum balance requirement in savings accounts, amended service charges, cool product tax rates, renewed locker fees, charges for availing new cheque books and many more, according to Zee News.

Most prominent among these changed rules matched to customers who hold savings accounts at metro, urban, semi-urban and rural branches. The financial institution has made mandatory repair off minimum balance over these accounts from April 1.

1) From April 1, all SBI savings banking account holders will probably be necessary to maintain stipulated minimum balance within their accounts. The bank has categorised its customers under metro, urban, semi-urban and rural brackets.

2) The absolute minimum balance requirement of Rs 5,000 continues to be fixed with an account holder with a branch inside a metro city. Similarly, customers in urban, semi-urban and rural SBI bank branches must maintain Rs 3,000, Rs 2,000 and Rs 1,000 respectively.

3) SBI has also formulated new rules for money transactions particularly at its automated teller machine booths. Under new rules, an SBI debit card holder is going to be allowed five free transactions at its ATMs. Besides, you will see a cost of Rs 20 to get a fourth transaction for bank card holders of other banks.

The lender will begin charging Rs 50 following the first three cash deposits from the month. This limit is prescribed for saving bank accounts.
For current customers the bucks transaction charges can be as high as Rs 20,000

In metropolitan areas like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Bengaluru there will be a charge of Rs 100 plus service tax, in the event the balance goes below 75 % from the minimum average balance.
If the account holder is falling in short supply of 50 per cent or fewer with the MAB.

Cash withdrawal from ATMs will be charged after the first three transaction for other banks and first five transactions from SBI ATMs.
The account holder will be charged Rs 20 following your three transactions off their bank ATMs and will be charged Rs 10 for withdrawals from SBI ATMs.
There will be no charge on withdrawals from SBI ATMs if the account holder maintains a minimum balance of Rs 25,000
In
Rs 15 is going to be charged for SMS alerts per quarter from debit card holders who have the ability to maintain average quarterly balance of up to Rs 25,000 through the 3 months period.
There won’t be any charge for UPI/ USSD transactions of up to Rs 1000.
